Critics Consensus: There's a lot of angsty brooding going on, but there's a self-referential cheekiness in The Vampire Diaries.

The Vampire Diaries is a show i am yet to find an equal for.
From my experience, it only took the first episode to get me into that show.
The best thing about the show is that over time you get to watch the characters develop. You get to watch them face life, death, sorrow, joy, jealousy, hate, confusion. There is no dull moment in the show. Sometimes the show has you so tightly wrapped up in the show that you actually feel the emotions of the characters. You even start feeling the loss of a character and the loss for a character. At a point you even start sympathizing with the villains in the show.
There are also many drawbacks of the show. It is unrealistic for most part. The students are in high school but they never are in school, they are off partying in the woods where most of the problematic things happen. Also, the actors and the actresses are of 8+ ages of the characters they are playing.
But even after all the drawbacks that show is AMAZING.

I feel a lot of the reviews of this show are pretty harsh and negative. You have to take into account that the main audience is: tweens, teens, and young adults. Also take into account it is a Hulu series so yes the budget is going to be smaller. With that being said, yes the characters are cliché and a bit cringey in the first few episodes because it was bad at first but that’s because they have to introduce the characters to you. Keep watching though and you’ll be hooked. The story is good; it leaves me feeling spooked when I watch it alone. The more you watch the more complex it gets and it’s a very fresh idea of a show for young adults.

This story goes on for 8 years and 8 seasons this series comprises of many emotions, as the story goes on it becomes interesting, mysterious. As you end one episode all you want to do is watch the next one as it leaves a mysterious ending which make you wanting more? As you keep going through the seasons the storyline changes its paths. It keeps changing but keeps getting interesting. Every season has different storyline
This is a great series I pull all-nighters only to watch this series. For some people it might be addicting. But for me this is a great way to pass time and to entertain. This story has a lot of adventures about supernatural acts and incidents. There is possibly everything we all want to see the suspense, the horror, the drama and all that including grief.
The town of mystic falls is not safe for everyone. When the characters cry we all cry. When the character dies we all feel sad inside. But it’s not about the characters we lose but about how the story builds up after that. The actors brought life into the character and the show. The way they portrayed the characters was outstanding. The cast of the show is just perfect. Nobody could have portrayed the characters better.
After some seasons we all get used to the show as the part of us. We all see the way Elena adapts herself to all the chaotic life she walks into with Stefan.
The way they all deal with all the problems shows that all the friends have a great and understanding relationship. They all stick up for each other.
The series has –The girl who lost her parents (Elena), a human who always needed to be saved(Matt), the unselfish and selfless witch(Bonnie), the blonde Barbie(Caroline), the overprotective brother(Stefan), the badass vampire(Damon), a psychotic villain(Kai), the ex-lover who became an enemy(Kathrine) and then the psychotic vampire until he met a witch(Enzo)
I do recommend you all to watch it its soooo good and suuuuperrrrr amazing.

This is the town of mystic falls a town full of adventures involving vampires, witches, werewolves, hybrids, originals, doppelgangers, ghosts, hunters, travelers, siphoners, heretics, sirens and Matt Donavan.
As Elena says “This is Mystic Falls nothing bad ever happens here” (Really are you sure about that!?)
